I really love to read (obvious if you’ve ever met me) and so I enjoy the online book clubs that have popped up all over the place. If nothing else, they get me to read new books, even though I very often don’t get to read them in time for the “book club” to be over, since I’m perpetually on the waiting list at the library. For March, though, I got through in time!
Without any spoilers, I thought that this book was excellent. It’s really well written (about a teenager with cancer – that’s not giving it away, it’s on the back cover I’m pretty sure) and her life. I listened to the audiobook and I kept wanting to stay in the car to listen. I thought the book took a fairly depressing subject and made it hilarious at times. It also had these amazing lines about love and life, and when I was younger I would have written them all over my notebook. I absolutely recommend it, but I don’t think I’ll read it again – though I almost feel like I have to, to find all the amazing lines and thoughts I didn’t notice the first time through.
Verdict: go read it!!! But it’s sad. Fair warning.
What should I read next – ideas?
